Chicken & Broccoli Chinese Takeout
Chicken and broccoli is a popular Chinese takeout dish that is both delicious and nutritious. It's a simple stir-fry dish that combines tender chicken, crisp broccoli florets, and a savory sauce. Here's a recipe to help you recreate this dish at home:
Ingredients:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
2 cups broccoli florets
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Optional: sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce. Set aside.
Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry for about 5-6 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Stir to coat everything evenly.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and transfer the chicken and broccoli to a serving plate. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Serve the chicken and broccoli over steamed rice or noodles.
Enjoy your homemade chicken and broccoli Chinese takeout-style dish!
