Sera Ella waterfall is located in the village called Potathawela near the Laggala area of ​​Matale District in the central province of Sri Lanka and this waterfall is called Sera Ella because of the species of fish called "Sera" that live in this waterfall. This waterfall originates from Kitul Falls which runs to the top of Kawdagamamana mountain and the Hunumadagala river. The waterfall receives water throughout the year and is in full flow during the monsoon months (November-March).



It flows down and divides into 2 parts, it is about 10 meters high, a special thing is that there is a cave behind this waterfall. A staircase has been made to reach the cave and even when the waterfall is in full flow, you can reach the cave safely.
